V. ORIENTAGUNE CONFERENCE

DUAL UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

On 23 and 24 October 2017 we organised the conference Jornada Orientagune in Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria and Orona Ideo, this being the fifth edition.

The theme was “DUAL UNIVERSITY EDUCATION”.

On both days around 40-50 people attended, the majority of them upper sixth and vocational training guidance counsellors interested in the theme.

Jon Altuna, academic vice rector of Mondragon Unibertsitatea (Mondragon University), led both sessions which he shared with Jean Tellechea (ESTIA, École supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées), Estibaliz Hernández (Business Administration Faculty), Josu Galarza (Higher Polytechnic College), Rosa Lavín (Grupo SSI), Elena Sánchez (Maier), Mikel Mesonero (Academic Coordinator of the Business Administration Faculty), Nekane Errasti (Academic Coordinator of the Higher Polytechnic College) and Garbiñe Beraza (Orona Ideo)

At both sessions, Jon Altuna presented the dual education model of Mondragon University and Jean Tellechea spoke about ESTIA’s experience in work-linked training schemes.

Representatives from the faculties explained in detail how the dual education is developed in degree courses both in the Business Administration Faculty and the Higher Polytechnic College in order to eventually know the point of view of enterprises about work-linked training and know their reasons for being committed to this model of education
